If you are tired of headphones and earphones, there are other means of satisfying your listening needs. Read up on a couple of these and then you will be able to decide which one you are going to go out and get:

There is the ZVOX 315 Surround Speaker System. This single-box speaker system connects to your iPod with a single cable, making it a listening pleasure. Your benefits of this speaker system are that it works on MP3 players, portable music players, DVD players, televisions, CD players, satellite radios, gaming consoles … well just about anything with audio outputs or headphone jacks.

Also available is the ZVOX Mini, which is a smaller portable version of the 315.

Then you get the Harman JBL On-Stage. This provides power so you can charge your iPod, even when it is off, and when it is not connected to the PC. All you have to do is plug in your iPod charger to the back of the JBL On-Stage, and believe it or not, your iPod will charge whether the system is on or off. The JBL is compatible with all iPod versions except iPod with Photo. This also supports the iPod mini.

The Macally Pod-Wave is an ultra-portable mini sound system and is battery operated. This device allows you to take pleasure in your music with the headsets or long-wired speakers. This mini PodWave works with iPod mini, iPod and basically all audio players that support a 3.5mm jack.

This one is the ultimate, but don’t take my word for it. The Monster Cable iSpeaker Portable. It plugs into the jack on your iPod, then it’s ready to go. iSpeaker’s flat panel technology provides the ultimate in stereo sound and works on its own batteries. This system supports all iPods, even PCs with audio ports.

The Altec Lansing In Motion is a must for those looking for the simpler things in life. It’s a tiny, portable and battery operated stereo system. It’s the first audio system designed for the iPod. All it takes, is for you to place your iPod into the dock or connect it to the auxiliary port and you are on your way!

The Tivoli iPal with AM/FM Radio is very impressive. All you are going to need to do is use the auxiliary input to connect your iPod. The iPal supports all iPods and comes with an AM/FM Radio tuner. It also supports CD players and other devices.

I have included only a few speaker systems for you iPod. To read more on the devices and to compare prices, just take a look on the internet. I have already settled with my iPod speaker system. Have you settled with one yet?

iPod FM transmitters

We all have to admit that the major benefit of iPod is the fact that it is so compact and easily portable. Comparing it to a deck of cards, it is barely higher. You can effortlessly store thousands of your favorite songs and audio books on your iPod, and because of its comparatively fat battery, you can play it for hours and hours. However, the portability of the iPod can become a predicament, because how can you take you music along when driving in a car?

People with BMW have no problem, thanks to a joint effort between BMW and Apple. Those of us that don’t have a BMW are a little unlucky, right? Well not quite! However, our options are kind of limited. There is something called the ‘cassette converter’ option. It’s a bit messy, because it requires a wire connection between the cassette deck and the iPod.

For those of you who don’t want to go with the cassette option, you could go for the after integrated iPod controllers, which are a bit pricy and not quite portable and if you ever decide to sell your car, the chances of selling it without the iPod controller are very slim.

You are then definitely left with no choice than to buy yourself an FM transmitter. Do you want to know how they work? Well, they are incredibly easy to use. Here are the three most popular transmitters for the iPod: Griffin Technology iTrip, Belkin Tune Cast II FM Mobile Transmitter and the Exonic EXF2030 FM Transmitter.

The iTrip is quite attractive and impressive. With the iTrip transmitter comes with the cleanest signal because all radio stations are tuned in so that you get the ultimate best performance. Special station codes are played from the iPod itself.

An additional advantage of the iTrip is that it requires no batteries because it receives little amounts of energy from the iPod. It is said that the Original iTrip can rotate out the way to power up the iPod while in use. No more batteries.

To support this theory, is the fact that there is no power switch. All you have to do is plug in and go. The iTrip is an accessory that allows you to listen to the music beyond your earphones.

Basically the iPod FM transmitter is only necessary if you want to listen to your own music when driving and not to whatever is playing on the radio stations. They usually have clear easy to read LCD screens that display track numbers and other files and folders.

There are even iPod FM transmitters that are capable of charging your iPod while you drive and listen. Most of them have a built in antenna which will ensure that you get clear reception wherever you are traveling no matter what you want to listen to.

This is a great an innovative accessory, so look around and you will probably find one best suited to your iPod and its needs.

Pros and Cons of Used iPods

iPod too expensive for you? Why not try the secondhand stores that sell used iPods? You can find these stores almost anywhere since iPod has already became a household name. If you’re one of those iPod addicts that need to upgrade your iPods on a regular basis or as soon as there is a new model, why not sell your used iPod to secondhand stores, and others in turn can buy these? There is not much variation between the used iPods than the new iPods since they have the same features and abilities except that the secondhand iPods are the older versions, and newer models are being produced regularly. Used accessories for your iPod can also be found in these stores. Choose well what kind of iPod you want though.

What most buyers are hesitant about buying used iPods is that one is never sure about the real condition of the used iPod. There is the usual wear and tear of the iPod, but the battery is very important to be able to use it. If the battery is already dead, then the best option for it is to repair the iPod since the battery is enclosed in the casing of the iPod. But there is little to be worried about the condition of the battery since it is a Lithium Ion battery, and it does last a fair amount of time. They can hold out for 300 to 500 charging and discharging cycles, and it is doubtful that the battery will have a problem.

But before you buy a secondhand iPod, be sure that you know of a secondhand store with a good reputation because other stores might pass off an iPod as good but has a damage that is not seen. Be wise and ask for information about the used iPods, the essential documents that comes with it and the guarantee information.

iPod Earphones

There is a variety of iPod earphones on the market that will transform your iPod into something completely different. These iPod earphones provide isolated sound of up to 40db, allowing you to enjoy your music to the fullest.

These earphones isolate any background noise that interferes with your music. What was noticed was the extreme noise loss from the outside world. The wonderful thing about iPod and the earphones is that the person sitting next to you will not even know that you are listening to Shania Twain.

What these actually are, are little loudspeakers for your ears, held either close to your ear or worn in your ear. Common forms of earphones include the hand-held receiver, or headphone, which is one or a couple earphones held together by a band over your head.

iPod earphones are in the style of an ear-bud that rely on Neodymium transducers, which is a rare magnet from the earth. This is important in enhancing the frequency response and sound quality. This is five times powerful than other headphones. Rewind, play, pause, fast-forward by the touch of just a few buttons. There is a “Hold” button that allows you to lock the iPod so no buttons can be pressed accidentally. Another advantage is that the remote can be clipped to your shirt, collar or lapel for easy access. These accessories work with 15 GB, 30 GB or 10 GB iPod dock connectors.

A new pair of earphones on the market today includes 9mm sound drivers thanks to the latest audio technology. This will provide you with superb bass response and clear treble sound. These state of the art earphones come in 3 sizes of ear-filling noise to provide with the best fit possible.

This definitely enhances comfort and sound quality. The various shapes of the earphones provide a tight fit to bring the music closer to you so it makes you feel like you are in your favorite dance club. These ear pieces and 9mm sound drivers combined give you a strong bass signal. This is ultra sound and comfort and lets it take you on an experience of a lifetime. These earphones are at a great price and are available at stores where iPods are sold.

There are other earphones that stomp the original IPod earbuds in terms of comfort and sound. Even after being compared to more expensive earphones, these still top the cake rather well. Although big brand earphones produce wider stereo separations and clearer sounds, these earphones still offer a very appealing and satisfying mix of sound and blocking of the world outside for a very attractive price.

For the best sound quality and noise reduction, find the best earphones for you, but beware, there are imitations out there as well, and the sound quality they offer won’t come anywhere close to the real thing.

Accessories for iPod addicts

I just recently bought my very own iPod last summer. Not only was it a great comfort to me when I work, but it’s a great companion when I travel. Walking along our malls, I realized that there are a lot of accessories now on the market for your iPod. You can find it not only in stores but also in the internet, and the internet is a great source for these accessories. Here are some of the accessories I came across when I was searching for accessories for my iPod in the malls and internet.

The DLO Autopad charger is designed to fit into the car lighter for an easy access to charging your iPod. The Tune Deck Car Holder is designed for your car as well since it easily slips into your car’s cup holder. This is a great use for 3G and 4G iPods.

For different iPod looks, here are some of the covers and skins. The iCover is especially made for a 4G, 20G and 30Gb iPods with a camera, but the eXo flip 4G skin can also fit the 20Gb and 30Gb with camera. There are also different iSkins in the market. iSkins Wild Side, Verve; iSkins Wild Side, Rebel; iSkins Wild Side, Diva is designed for iPod Mini but not for the iPod Nano. The eXo skin comes in a different variety to choose from. It is designed for the G and Gb iPods with photo.

For your home use, there is the iPod Stereo Link Cable. I recently bought this accessory because I can connect it to my stereo enhancing the rich sound of the music.

There is also the iSkins eVo2 Wild Slides, Rebel. It has a belt swivel clip and a screen protector. Don’t forget the Blaze scratch resistant screen with silicone protector to save your screen from scratches.

Make your iPod different, try these accessories out and make it your very own.

iPod Manual

The iPod is the new technology that enables users to have their music and videos with them at all times. With it’s easy to understand interface this is an easy tool to use, but be certain that what’s inside stays true to Apple’s on-edge reputation – this device looks tame, but it’s a monster that you need to learn to control. The iPod user manual is the easiest way to do this, unless you can do it all on you own without any difficulty.

Getting stared with the iPod: This device works with iTunes, which is included in the iPod, this enables you to organize your CD collection so you can have it all stored on your iPod for on the go listening. For more information consult your iPod user guide, but this is only a basic user manual showing what the official manual has to offer all iPod users.

The iPod allows you to transfer music: when iTunes opens it will automatically transfer your selected songs to the iPod (this is once the device is connected to you personal computer of course). Once the transfer is complete you will be prompted that it is safe to disconnect the device.

The iPod allows you to play music: use the iPod’s scroll wheel to select and browse your list of songs, then hit the play button to enjoy your selection.

The user manual will show you what the iPod is able to do, how you can connect it to your personal computer, turning your iPod on and off, disabling iPod buttons, using the iPod controls, selecting your choice and creating play lists, changing the volume while listening to your music, using the Apple iPod remote, transferring data between two devices, updating your iPod’s address book and calendar, changing setting, changing the battery and updating software from your personal computer.

You might think that there is no need for you to look at your iPod manual, but think again. There are a lot of questions surrounding iPods and the Tips and Trouble shooting section of the manual will clear everything up for you. Things that will be explained in the manual are urgent messages and details you can use when you get stuck with your iPod, like: What are the system requirements for iPod to Macintosh connectivity? My iPod won’t switch on or respond, what do I do? My iPod does not want to play music, what might be wrong? When I connect my iPod to my computer nothing happens, why? The FireWire port cover came off, HELP! My remote isn’t working, do I need to replace it?

These are things that will happen to anyone’s iPod and it will always help to be prepared. I suggest you read the entire manual before attempting to use your new iPod. Let’s face it, it’s always better to be prepared.

iPod Battery

When purchasing an iPod, which is an easy to use device that enables you to have your music and videos on you at all times, one of the main concerns is the battery life.

This battery is rechargeable and should very rarely give you any hassles. You just plug it in and off you go. If you do need to these batteries are fully replaceable and Apple will even replace the engraving and all other features on your casing. Even thought the casing is not designed to be opened and is able to be by certain third parties, so you could take your iPod to them as well.

The guarantee on your iPod is one year and does include the battery. You also have the option of requesting a 2 year guarantee which will also include the battery. There are some models of iPod, the earlier ones, where the batteries have stopped working after a shorter amount of time. These Ion Lithium batteries are only good for about 300 to 500 charge / discharge cycles. Testing done on Lithium Ion batteries show that it has not been fully matured and there are continuous studies being done to improve and extend the battery life. These batteries also prefer not to be fully discharged when possible.

Remember that there is no fool proof method to ensure that your iPod battery will never degrade. This would be impossible, that same as it would be for laptops, cell phones or any other device using the same kind of battery. Depending on certain environmental factor, charging methods, and how often it is used each person’s iPod battery will degrade in a different period of time and to varying degrees.

Apple’s iPod battery can allow it’ users from 10 hours to 20 hours playing time depending on which model iPod you have. This is also influenced by various external factors that have not been taken into account.

In order for Apple to consider their guarantee to be in affect for a defective iPod battery, the capacity of the battery to have an electrical charge will have to have diminished by 50 percent or more from the original length specified. If these conditions do not apply, then the problem will have to be checked by an Apple service center.

To make the most out of your iPod’s battery life you should make note of a few things. Keep updated with the latest iPod software at all times, set the controls to the Hold mode, when the player is not in use. This will stop it from accidentally switching on inside your bag or pocket. Also be sure to keep your iPod at room temperature. Do not leave your iPod in you car or in direct sun light for long periods of time. Also if your iPod has been exposed to cold temperatures, first let it warm up before you switch it on. You can also turn the back light down on your iPod screen as this does use up a lot of battery power.

iPod Games

With your iPod, aside from playing hundreds of music tunes and being able to watch movies, you can also relax and have some fun with the various iPod games that are available. The cracker is the same guy who cracked the DVD copyprotection a few years ago. The hacker claims to have unlocked the playback restrictions of Apple Computer Inc.'s iPod and iTunes music products and plans to license his code to others.

The move by Jon Lech Johansen, also known as "DVD Jon," could pit the 22-year-old against Apple's lawyers, experts say, but if successful could free users from some restrictions Apple and its rivals place on digital music.

Today, songs purchased from Apple's online iTunes Music Store can't be played on portable devices made by other companies. Songs purchased from many other online music stores also won't work on iPods because they similarly use a form of copy-protection that Apple doesn't support.

More: http://edition.cnn.com/2006/TECH/ptech/10/24/ipod.code.ap/index.html

IPod Travel Accessories

From iPod auto accessories to travel Podcasts
Apple's iPods have blown the mp3 player competition away like a tornado in Kansas. With unbeatable marketing, Apple has turned the iPod into more than just an mp3 player, but an integral part of the average person's day. In our high tech society, the iPod now is even an important part of traveling. With a billion accessories, here is a run-down of the necessary iPod travel accessories - or at least as necessary as an iPod can be.

Road trippin' - iPod auto accessories
Taking your iPod on a road trip with you is a lot easier than carrying a hundred CDs. There are plenty of iPod auto accessories and adapters that enable you to listen to your iPod in your car, some are better than others though.

If you have an older car that still has a cassette player, I recommend using Coby's $9.00 CA-747. It's not fancy, but it does the job. But as most people do not have cassette players in their cars anymore, iPod FM transmitters are the next option. The only problem with iPod FM transmitters is finding a station to tune to and being able to stay tuned to that station for a long duration. In my opinion, the best iPod FM transmitter is the iTrip FM Transmitter from Griffin. The large LCD screen makes it easier to see what you are doing while driving and the multiple broadcasting modes help you get the best possible audio quality from your radio.

The battery of an iPod doesn't last forever, but there are plenty of ways to power your iPod in the car. I recommend the Griffin PowerJolt Auto Charger, to keep the tunes going while driving.

Walking around
People walking around with earbuds sticking out their ears is a common site these days. If you're on vacation with a friend, I recommend buying the Monster iSplitter, so whether you're on a plane or a train or walking around - you can share your music with a friend.

Carrying it all
With all these iPod accessories, you'll need something to carry them in. Depending on how many iPod accessories you are bringing there are many choices to carry and protect your precious iPod within. The most popular and well-made iPod bags are Waterfield Designs' iPod Gear Pouch, which comes in two sizes. The small bag will fit all size iPods, earbuds, Firewire/USB cable and power or supply or arm band. The large fits all of the above, plus other accessories like a car stereo adapter, FM transmitter, extra batter and more. Plus they come in different colors.

If you are carrying more stuff, there are plenty of messenger bags that have special iPod and mp3 player holders. For example STM's Xs drift courier bag is large enough to fit all your gear, but not so big that it's bulky and in the way.

Protection
You wouldn't want to damage your precious iPod - would you? There are plenty protection options from the cute and colored iPod socks to the multiple iSkin options out there. My personal favorite though is the Otterbox Waterproof cases, perfect for beach vacations.

Tours
Podcasts are huge, and there are hundreds if not thousands of Travel Podcasts out there. Wcities offers free City Guide Podcast downloads for over 300 cities. You can find a Podcast for just about any destination or topic. For more great travel Podcasts visit the TP Insider.

With hundreds of iPod accessories out there, the decisions are endless; luckily TravelPost.com is here to guide you along the way from iPod auto accessories and adapters to iPod FM transmitters and Podcasts.

Jillian Scheeler makes it easy to lauch an Ipod accessories which is very useful while traveling. While also knowing you will be able to charge it back up right in the car and that you don’t have to return home to plug it in. I love the beauty of the iPod, gone are the days of messing with batteries and all that other unpleasant stuff.

iPods have revolutionized the music industry and you can expect the industry to keep on growing and adding new accessories all the time. One of the truly great benefits to owning an iPod is the functionality. Funny enough I find that I want my iPod during the times that I am on the go like in the car or mowing the yard. In fact, I tend to spend much of my time in the car traveling to work, running errands and the like so I use my iPod in the car more than anywhere else. So what can you do when you want to take your iPod in the car but you need to keep it charged?

There are some permanent methods of installing an iPod in the car but that might not be a suitable solution for everyone for a few different reasons. First: they tend to be on the expensive side, with pricing starting out at $150 and that’s prior to installation fees. Next: will this permanent device still be compatible with future iPod models? And lastly what if you change vehicles, will you then have to pay for installation all over again? It might just be me but it sounds like a costly undertaking. But don’t be discouraged we do have other options for you – an iPod car charger.

After comparing many different of iPod car chargers on the market we have put together some tips to consider before settling on an iPod car charger:
Functionality & Design: The iPod car charger should send sound to the car’s stereo system through an FM transmitter or thru a cable connected to a cassette adapter or input jack.
It should send power to the iPod through the cars electrical outlet.
Also it should hold the iPod in such a way that it makes it possible for the driver to view and control the iPod while driving but safely.

Of course it is not imperative that every car iPod car charger performs all of these functions but one or more of them should be the solution you are looking for.
While this may just be a personal preference and not a common preference for most people the iPod car charger comes in one color – black. This can be helpful since most automobile dashboards are black and that will help keep the iPod from sticking out like a sore thumb so that passerby’s won’t visually see your iPod left in the car.

iPod Car Accessories

Keep the good times going with many products that will turn your car into a portable party playhouse.
What's the point in having a digital music player if you can't release the tunes to your car stereo? The iPod refers to a class of portable digital audio players designed and marketed by many computer companies. Devices in the iPod family offer a simple user interface designed around a central scroll wheel. Most iPod models store media, music and video, on a built-in hard drive, and some lower-end model iPod’s shuffle relying on flash memory and so begins the story of the ipod.

The iPod was introduced around 2001, and continued development of the iPod, making it slimmer, sleeker on the exterior, while expanding its capacity and capabilities. The user interface has also evolved. The result is a piece of hardware that anyone, even the most technology challenged person can use with ease.

An iPod is much more than "just a little boombox." They are used as an incredible teaching tool that is being used in many different ways to speak to today's students in a language they can understand and enjoy. We've been using iPods for several years now and we still use those first generation "oldies" too. Some of our applications utilize only the audio functions of the iPod and these "retro" models are perfect for language and music listening lessons. Newer models, are used for interdisciplinary applications that link music, art, literature, even architecture to illustrate and explain common themes. Now with the advent of the video iPod, we're doing math modeling and addressing the needs of the hearing impaired through animation.

Many of the smaller MP3 players have no moving parts, so even vigorous exercise can't produce any skips in your music. Even the MP3 players that have hard drives with moving parts are less likely to skip than portable CD players.

There are several different types and styles of iPods available on the market which will allow you to download music, photos and videos from your computer or the Internet to allow you to then play them remotely. The information is either stored on a small hard disk or in flash memory inside the iPod.

Downloading can be done through programs available for iPods by installing them on your computer. One such popular program is iTunes. You can select what you want to download into your IPod from the Internet. You can also use iTunes to turn normal CDs into digital files that can be played on your iPod. iTunes membership is included with the purchase of your iPod. iPod’s can also be used as a mobile storage devices to store and transfer files between computers for back up or ease of traveling with the information and files you need with you at all times when your computer can’t be there. And not to mention all of the accessories there is to ipod, like car accessories and much more.

Move over walkman there is a new kid in town. . .

Car Accessories to you iPod

The iPod car accessories keep coming more and more.
